Bindery Assistants and Operators

Fast growing, privately owned, digital printing & mailing company in Atlanta is currently seeking experienced bindery assistance and operators. Through our unique combination of tools and expertise in physical, digital and hybrid communications, we are helping businesses meet the many challenges of connecting with individual customers in a targeted manner. We also provide strategic outsourcing services to help organizations streamline their mail and print operations and manage critical documents. We are seeking a hard working, efficient, intelligent, experienced candidate to fill a position that requires integrity, pride in workmanship and overall attention to quality control.

Qualified applicants must have previous experience with stitching, folding, or assisting as needed.   Applicants also need experience feeding machines, boxing, shrink wrapping, etc.

To be qualified applicants should have:

  • At least three years professional experience as a Stitching, Perfect Binder, Cutting operator performing both setup and operation. 

  • Ability to juggle multiple projects and varying work within tight deadlines. 

  • Ability to follow QC measures as required.

Job Duties:

  • Prefer experience with Horizon stitch equipment, or folder and cutter equipment. 

  • Inspect equipment for safety issues. 

  • Operate automatic adhesive binding machines (perfect binders) that contain numerous interrelated process stations.

  • Make needed adjustments to coordinate the multiple work stations on a single machine.
     
  • Work with crew though all aspects of production. 

  • Monitor quality, output and productivity. 


Required Skills:

General knowledge of the more complex bindery machines (i.e. fully automatic binding machines (perfect binders), multiple station collators and multiple folding units, either individually or combined) to perform the full range of standard and specialized folds of printed materials

  • Thorough knowledge of the set-up, operating requirements, procedures, capabilities and limitations of one or more bindery machines to perform the full range of standard and specialized folding, collating and cutting of printed materials to complete a combined finishing product. 

  • Knowledge of the quality and machining requirements of various coated and uncoated types of paper stock. 

  • Skill in setting up and adjusting machines for finishing operations and to refine such adjustments for the weight, color, machinability and quality of paper stock being used and to prevent machining impressions on the printed materials. 

  • Must be able to calculate distances, clearances, and fits in combining machines. 

  • Job requires ability to exert 20 to 50 pounds of force occasionally, and/or 10 to 25 pounds of force frequently, and/or greater than negligible up to 10 pounds of force constantly to move objects.

Print and Desktop Operator

Job Description:

We are a locally owned direct mail and print company looking for a detail oriented full-time Digital Print iGEN Operator to join our team.

As a Digital Print iGEN Operator, you will be using the latest printing technology to help our clients effectively create and produce business cards, catalogs, brochures, photo books and much more!

The ideal candidate will be able to process job files and effectively operate and maintain our iGen3 & 4 digital print equipment and have the ability to produce high-quality products that exceed our customer’s expectations. This candidate will also be eager to enhance their skill set as every day is a chance to expand their knowledge in this fast past industry!

Your Responsibilities will include:

  • Setup and operate the iGen digital equipment in an efficient, safe, orderly, and quality conscious manner.
  • Read and interpret job jackets to determine the type of work to be done, the quantities to be produced, and the materials needed.
  • Monitor machine operation, and make adjustments as necessary to ensure proper operation.
  • Sort, assemble, and proof completed work.
  • Remove printed material or finished products from machines, wrap products, stack products on pallets or skids, or pack them in boxes.
  • Retrieve and put away necessary paper stock, clean rollers, add toner and fluids as needed.
  • Maintain accurate production logs, including work volumes and output, materials used, and jobs completed.
  • Maintain a clean and safe work environment by maintaining safety and OSHA standards.

Qualifications we are looking for:

  • Able to work independently on projects using various page build applications and collaborate as a strong team member. 
  • Communicate effectively with supervision, tech support, and other associates. 
  • Excellent attention to detail, flexible and adaptable to change.
  • Able to operate under pressure and meet deadlines. 
  • Ability to multitask and set priorities. 
  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs. 
  • Basic PC and math skills
  • Certification on an iGen printer is REQUIRED.

Position Summary:

This position is responsible for meeting and exceeding solutions revenue goals for assigned geographic territory or set of clients. This position is responsible for selling a specified solutions offering, without the support of sales account executives, requiring a high level of specialized solution knowledge and focused in penetrating new clients. These solutions include: professional consulting, mail-and-document management and managed output services to integrated content management.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Position will assume total ownership of accelerating revenue growth including lead generation, cost analysis, pricing, and quota process, leads proposal development and till successful installation of platform solution.
  • Position takes primary role of leadership in front of clients, coordinating all supporting resources required to design and present how our solutions can effective solve a client business problem.
  • Work collaboratively with all functional peers (i.e. Operations, Marketing, HR, and Consulting & Integration Services) and team members to ensure a smooth transition from prospect status to client status.
  • Proposes realistic but aggressive solution for clients, sharing key prospect plans and tactics for continuous opportunity development and expansion within assigned targeted clients or geography..
  • Experience in coordinating teams consisting of analytical, technological, financial and marketing personnel to develop robust solutions and integrating it in front of clients
  • Proven history of working with C-Suite or Sr. level executives within their portfolio assignment or targeted set of clients to grow net new business and anticipate client's strategic direction. 
  • Proven ability to successfully sell complex deals involving technology, workflow/process design and hardware solutions that are related to mail, print or document management.
  • Strategic thinker with the ability to see the big picture and grasp the details of sophisticated business challenges, as well as understanding competitor's positioning to differentiate our solutions to win.
  • Responsible for using a consultative selling approach to translate client business problems into a custom solution
  • Professional communication, presentation, and negotiation skills
  • Must be a team player working closely with operations, representatives from other business units, and external partners.
  • Ability to understand customer needs and knowledge or affinity for appropriate business solutions to address needs.
  • The stature, presence and knowledge in specified solution to transmit confidence to clients and to architect the best strategy to win deals at highest possible margin.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree or higher preferred.
  • 8 to 10 years experience in outsourcing or related field and experience and proven track record in Solution Selling to Business Process Outsourcing and/or project consulting.
  • 8 to 10 years experience in developing intangible solutions for, and calling on, Fortune 1000 account in his/her assigned geography or portfolio.
  • 5+ years of successfully developing complex solutions for Fortune 1000 companies in his/her assigned geography or portfolio
  • 5+ years experience in the digital variable print-on-demand (POD) environment utilizing Xerox IGEN, Xeikon, Indigo, NexPress, or other high volume color print technologies including variable work flows.
  • 5+ years in selling digital variable print on demand, commercial print, Direct mail, collateral management, along with warehousing and fulfillment.
  • 5+ years in demonstrating knowledge of web based ordering, fulfillment, warehousing and distribution of customized marketing collateral materials.
  • A proven track record of meeting annual sales goals with aggressive pipeline management and activity based sales process. Success in building his/her assigned geography or portfolio including constructing a sales strategy to enter net new accounts, navigate to the appropriate level of key business decision makers and close deals ranging in size of $100,000 to $2M in annual revenues.
